Our Philosophy
At Turning Point Treatment Center we understand that both alcoholism and addiction is an illness (disease) that can be diagnosed and treated. This illness damages the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of individuals and of their families. All of these aspects of life will need to be addressed in order to restore balance to lives affected by addiction.
This is why we believe our family group is so powerful. By educating the entire family and breaking old myths about addiction and alcoholism we immediately start the healing of family members. And when the family all have the same beliefs they can better understand their recovering alcoholic or addict.
With appropriate care and planning, abstinence and long-term success can be expected. People with addiction disorders can regain a life of integrity and use their full human potential to explore all of life’s possibilities. Regardless of the amount of damage that has resulted from the addiction; with proper care and education, the future is hopeful!
We also understand that people suffering from addictions often do not want or recognize the need for help. Motivating, educating and supporting clients through the early, resistant stages of recovery is the primary objective of the residential treatment process. Residential treatment is a direct intervention in a disease process. It will play a critical role in achieving positive outcomes when addressing addictions. Early interventions and a well-constructed after-care plan will greatly enhance the likelihood of long-term success.
